Squirrel Photo | Photographs

Free Digital Photo Prints has posted a new item, 'Squirrel Photo'

Natural photography can be quite a challenge as your subjects do not always
cooperate. I really like this picture. I think the composition is interesting
and the colors are so alive. Not sure how the photographer was able to get the
squirrel to stay still and pose like that but I bet some nuts might have been
involved. Hope you like it as well.

Digital Photography Tips And Techniques | Digital Photography Tips

Free Digital Photo Prints has posted a new item, 'Digital Photography Tips And Techniques'

In my neverending effort to learn as much as I can on the subject of photography I comb the Internet incessantly to uncover as many tutorials and instructional videos on picture taking. Whenever I can track down any relevant advice I and my readers can benefit from I post it here on my site. This post contains photography tips I hope you can find effective in your quest to become a better photographer. Here is an OK article with some photography tips. Let me know what you think.

Taking photographs with your digital camera can be very exciting. However, you can make your pictures even more appealing if your learn a few simple tricks of the trade.

Here are 5 digital photography tips you can use:

1) See The Light

Learn how to see the light. See the color of light, see the direction of the light, see the quality or light observing the shadows and the highlights. Do not forget the contrast of the scene too. That way you can set your exposure accordingly.

2) Depth & Dimension

Try to create a sense of depth and dimension in your pictures. In other words, we see the world in 3 dimensions which are height, width and depth but our digital cameras only see in two dimensions. So it is your job as a photographer to try create a sense of depth. One way to do that is to use a foreground element when composing your shots.

3) Tell The Whole Story

Take the wide angle shots, medium shots, vertical shots, horizontal shots and look for details. Do not be afraid to shoot close ups. If you have a lot of pictures you can tell the whole story because as photographers we are story tellers but we need a wide variety of pictures to tell the whole story.

4) Frame It

When you are photographing someone look for a doorway, look for a window so you can frame the person you are taking a picture of. Do not just take pictures of the subject standing in front of a boring background. You will get a much more interesting picture good enough for framing.

5) Envision End Result

Always envision the end result, for me photography is a 50/50 deal. Fifty percent image capture and fifty percent digital darkroom work. Take a simple photograph of a rock in the Arizona desert for example, you can turn that into a black and white picture, you can warm up the picture to make it look like it was taken early in the morning or later in the day.

You can cool it off to make it look like it was taken at midnight and perhaps best of all if there is a subject in the scene that you do not want, you can crop it out.
